  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper soda
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine ketchup, Dr. Pepper, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  2. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and reduces slightly.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting the flavors as needed.
  6. Remove the sauce from heat and let it cool before using.
  7. Use the Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce as a marinade, basting sauce, or dipping sauce for your favorite grilled meats, chicken, or vegetables.
  8. Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
