Description

Easter is a time for joy, celebration, and of course, delicious treats! If you’re looking for a fun and festive dessert to delight your family and friends, look no further than these adorable Easter Cake Pops.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box cake mix (any flavor)
  • Ingredients needed to prepare cake mix (eggs, oil, water)
  • 1/2 cup frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 12 ounces candy melts or almond bark (in assorted colors)
  • Sprinkles or decorative sugar
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Styrofoam block or cake pop stand

Instructions

1. Bake the Cake:

  • Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box.
  • Prepare the cake batter as directed on the box.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan and bake according to the package instructions.
  • Once baked, let the cake cool completely.

2. Prepare the Cake Pops:

  • Once the cake has cooled, crumble it into fine crumbs using your hands or a fork.
  • Add the frosting to the crumbled cake and mix until well combined. The mixture should hold together when squeezed.

3. Shape the Cake Balls:

  • Roll the cake mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
  • Insert a lollipop stick into each cake ball, about halfway through, and place them in the freezer for about 15 minutes to firm up.

4. Melt the Candy Melts:

  • In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the candy melts or almond bark according to the package instructions. Melt each color separately.

5. Dip the Cake Pops:

  • Remove the cake pops from the freezer.
  • Dip each cake pop into the melted candy melts, tapping off any excess coating.
  • If using sprinkles or decorative sugar, sprinkle them over the wet candy coating before it sets.
  • Insert the cake pops into a styrofoam block or cake pop stand to allow them to dry and harden completely.

6. Decorate:

  • Once the candy coating has set, use additional melted candy melts to pipe decorative designs or details onto the cake pops, if desired.

7. Serve or Store:

  • Once fully decorated and dry, your Easter cake pops are ready to serve!
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
