Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar, for topping
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Dough Preparation: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles on your workspace.
- Cheese Mixture: In a small bowl, blend the cream cheese, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
- Assembly: Spread a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture onto each triangle of dough. Add a few blueberries on top of the cream cheese layer.
- Roll and Bake: Carefully roll up each triangle, starting at the wider end, and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each roll with melted butter and sprinkle with the 2 tablespoons of sugar. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- Cooling: Allow the crescent rolls to cool slightly before dusting them with powdered sugar for that final, sweet touch.
- Can I use other fruits? Absolutely! While blueberries offer a classic flavor, raspberries, strawberries, or even a mix of berries can be great alternatives.
- Can I make these in advance? Yes, you can prepare the rolls up to the point of baking and keep them refrigerated overnight. Bake in the morning for fresh pastries.
- Is there a dairy-free version? For a dairy-free option, substitute the cream cheese with your favorite plant-based cream cheese alternative.
