- 2 ounces (60ml) vodka

- Lime wedge and mint, for garnish
Instructions

- Add vodka and lime juice. Top with ginger beer. Stir once.

Notes
Ginger beer, not ginger ale — you want spice. Copper is traditional but not required. Dark rum makes a different mule; keep this page on vodka.

Mule, not martini
Espresso martini is coffee and vodka, shaken. This is ginger beer and lime, built in the mug.
Substitutions
A mocktail: skip vodka, extra ginger beer and lime. Spicy ginger beer is better than mild.
Mistakes to avoid
Do not shake ginger beer (it explodes). Do not use ginger ale if you can help it.
Storage
Mix to order. Keep ginger beer cold.

FAQ
Do I need a copper mug?
No. It stays colder in copper. A highball works.
Ginger beer or ginger ale?
Ginger beer. Ale is too sweet and flat on spice.
Is this a mojito?
No. Mojitos are rum and mint on Flavors.
Pitcher?
Mix vodka and lime, add ginger beer in each glass so it stays fizzy.
