Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cooked turkey, diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2 cups (480ml) turkey or chicken broth
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 pie crust
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Cook onion, carrot, and celery in butter until soft. Stir in flour, then broth, milk, salt, and thyme. Simmer until thick.
- Stir in turkey and peas. Pour into a pie dish.
- Cover with the crust, cut vents, and bake 30 to 35 minutes, until the crust is brown.
Notes
The gravy has to be thick before it goes in the dish. A thin filling boils over and leaves a hollow pie.
