Chilled juice. Warm juice tastes tinny.

Hot sauce to taste, after the first sip.

Lemon

Fresh. It keeps the tomato from tasting flat.

FAQ

No alcohol?

Leave out the vodka and it is a virgin Mary. Say so if you serve it that way.

Clam juice?

A spoon makes it a Caesar-style drink. The base recipe is tomato.

Rim?

Celery salt on the rim is optional.

Batch?

Mix everything but the ice. Stir a glass with ice when you pour.
