Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) brandy, optional

Instructions

  1. Put wine, orange, cinnamon, cloves, and honey in a saucepan.
  2. Warm over low heat for 20 minutes. Do not boil.
  3. Stir in the brandy if you are using it. Ladle into mugs and leave the cloves behind.

Notes

A boil cooks off the wine and turns the spices bitter. Keep it steaming.
