Muddle

Press the mint. Do not shred it into bits.

Bourbon

A bottle you would sip. The ice dilutes it.

Sugar

A teaspoon. Simple syrup works if you have it.

Cup

A metal cup frosts. A glass works and will not frost the same way.

FAQ

Rum?

That is a different drink.

Make ahead

Build them as you serve. Ice melts and the mint turns bitter if it sits.

Mint

Spearmint. Peppermint is harsh.

No muddle

Clap the mint, drop it in, and stir. The bourbon still tastes like mint.
